Is Kotaro Lives Alone continuing for season 2, or has Netflix canceled it? Fans have been waiting for season 2 for ages. Kotaro Lives Alone’s first season was an emotional rollercoaster with many heartwarming and devastating moments. The anime is adapted from a Japanese manga series written by Mami Tsumura. The Shimizu apartment sees an unexpected tenant in the form of four-year-old Kotaro. Kotaro does his daily household chores and always has a toy sword strapped to his waist.

Considering the last episode of the first season, which seemed more like a series finale than a season finale, it doesn’t seem like another season will come. Kotaro Sato, the protagonist’s story, seemed to end when he realized his true strength had nothing to do with being alone.
When we look at the source material, the manga, the first season only covers four volumes. That means half the story is yet to be told. Considering the end of the first season, the second season may be a bit redundant, but considering the source material, there’s a lot left to cover.

What to expect from Kotaro Lives Alone season 2?
Season 1 introduced us to the many heart-wrenching and tragic events that happened to Kotaro that forced him to live alone. He was abandoned by his parents and left to starve. Some of his amusing quirks, including his fondness for tissues, are the result of past traumas. When he was starving, he had no choice but to eat tissue.
By the end of season one, the story appears to have come to an end. But we might see Kotaro learning more lessons in season 2. He can make new friends. We can see Shin Karino, Kotaro’s neighbor and the only one in the name of a family, rising to new heights in his career. We can see Mizuki down the street. The possibilities for the story to progress are endless. Most importantly, the series may answer several unanswered questions such as where is Kotaro’s father and who is his mother.
It’s been a long time, and Netflix hasn’t announced if the show is getting renewed or canceled. We fear the show is not coming. If there’s any update we’ll let you know.
