Chris Hemsworth is returning to reprise his role in the sequel of one of the biggest movies on Netflix, Extraction. We’ve been keeping tabs on the situation since the release of the sequel’s announcement teaser and have jotted down everything we know about Extraction 2 on Netflix.
Extraction was undoubtedly one of the most successful Original Movies on Netflix. It’s no surprise that it is returning with a sequel. Over 99 million stream Extraction surpassed Murder Mystery, Bird Box, and 6 Underground.

Production status of Extraction 2
Official Status: Under post-production (Updated on: December 21st, 2022)
Chris Hemsworth confirmed on his Instagram that filming would begin in late November 2021. The film was supposed to be shot in Sydney, Australia, however owing to COVID constraints, the location was shifted to Prague, Czech Republic. By March 19, 2022, filming was concluded and the film was in post-production.
At the Tudum event on September 24th, 2022, Netflix released some incredible behind-the-scenes footage of the film. It was later revealed that some reshoots had occurred in Prague.
On November 12th, Chris Hemsworth confirmed with a tweet that the reshoot had wrapped.
What can we expect from Extraction 2?
Tyler Rake is back with his team on another mission after recovering from a catastrophic wound sustained during an operation in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Their next mission is to rescue a family from the clutches of a Georgian gangster. Tyler invaded one of the most dangerous prisons in order to save them. The gangster was killed in the heat of combat, and now his equally brutal sibling is hunting Tyler and his team down for vengeance.
Who is returning to Extraction 2?
Chris Hemsworth is nowhere going and reprising his role as Tyler Rake. Actor Adam Besaa is returning for his role as Yaz. The radio tech of Nik’s crew, actress Rayna Campbell is returning as Ruthie. Patrick Newall, an actor and producer is reprising his role as Seb.
Georgian model and actress Tinatin Dalakishivili joined the cast and is playing the role of Ketevan. Dato Bakhtadze will play Avtandil.
When is Extraction 2 releasing on Netflix?
The film has been in post-production for several months. It was revealed at Netflix’s Tudum event that the film is going to drop globally in June 2022.
