Based on a true story, the new film of Netflix UK depicts the tails of Burnley’s David Fishwick. David aka Dave is a self-made millionaire and wants to set up a bank to help the community he belongs to. In order to serve his people and to help their business to thrive, Dave took on London and finally succeed.
Chris Foggin is gonna direct this movie. He commented on the movie: “I was immediately drawn to this story about the triumph of community, and I’m delighted to be working with such a wonderful cast. I truly believe the world needs films like this!”

The story of movie portrayed a true story of Burnley’s David Fishwick aka Dave (played by Rory Kinnear). Dave is a self-made millionaire and now he wants to help her communities’ businesses to thrive by helping them financially. In order to help back his community to which he belongs, he needs to set up a local bank. He faces many obstacles in the way of making a bank from the British banking system. Dave hired Hugh (played by Joel Fry), a lawyer from London to fight back against the banking system. Finally, Dave won the right to establish a Bank. This bank become the one British bank to be established in over a century.
Dave Fishwick stated in a press release: “To have a global movie made in Burnley about such an important part of my life, is truly amazing. I was overwhelmed when I was approached with the idea and it’s incredibly exciting to see the production starting soon.”
