Van Helsing, a fantasy, horror, post-apocalyptic, action, drama series, created by Neil LaBute, is directed by David Winning and distributed by SyFy. The series is inspired and based on a graphic novel ‘Helsing’ from Zenescope Entertainment. Van Helsing is one of the top choices by viewers when it comes to post-apocalyptic action series. Van Helsing Plot
In the post-apocalyptic world, vampires are ruling the world. In that era, Vanessa Helsing was resurrected. She is distantly related to Abraham Van Helsing, who was a renowned vampire hunter. Yellowstone Caldera erupted and covered the earth with ash blocking out sunlight. Which aids the vampires to overrun humanity and put a threat to the whole human population.

She is the last hope for humanity as she is equipped with a weapon that can defeat vampires, her special blood composition. Her blood can turn any vampire back into a human. With this unique ability, she becomes the prime target of vampires. She is safeguarded by a marine with a mission to keep her protected and a doctor.
In the second season, she reunites with her long-lost, highly trained vampire killer sister, Scarlett.
In the third season, they kill the elders, the original vampires, in hope of defeating them by the reduction of new vampire births.
The fourth season turned its focus to Vanessa’s long-lost daughters, Violet and Jack following her death. A new breed of Vampires is emerging. To combat the ‘Dark One’, Countess Olivia von Dracula and her brides, her daughters are much needed.

- Kelly Overton played the role of Vanessa Van Helsing. She is humanity’s last hope. She died in season 4.
- Jonathan Scarfe played Axel Miller. He is a former marine and guard of Vanessa. His mission is to keep her safe. He turned into a vampire while saving her, but all thanks to Vanessa’s blood which turned him back to human.
- Christofer Heyerdahi played the role of Samuel. He is a deaf survivor but extremely strong and has observation skills to stay hidden. Later he was discovered as a serial killer hunting survivors. Vanessa killed him but was resurrected by vampires. As soon as he becomes a sociopathic vampire, Vanessa becomes a revenge target.

- Vincent Gale played Phil “Flesh” Fleischman. He is one of the first vampires. He was sent to hunt Vanessa. But, later cured and returned to humanity. He was haunted by the thought of killing his children in front of her wife. He begins searching for her wife and after rescuing her, they leave to find a new perch.
- Rukiya Bernard played Sarah “Doc” Carol. She is also cured by Vanessa and brought back to humanity from vampirism. She found it difficult to turn back to humans and tried to turn back to vampires. But, she is immunised by Vanessa’s blood and fails to turn back into a vampire.
