Teen crime drama series Outer Banks hit Netflix on 15 April 2020. The series surprisingly returned with a highly anticipated season 2 in just 3 months.
Awarded with many prestigious awards including notable best drama and best male TV star awards at People’s Choice Awards, the series is coming back with season 3. There has been much speculation about the cancellation of the series after season 2. But on 7 December 2021, the renewal was officially announced.
Season 3 is anticipated to consist of 10 episodes, similar to prior seasons. Filming was started in early 2022. According to some reports, the filming has ended and the series is now under post-production. The budget for an episode is estimated at $5 million, with the entire season 3 costing approximately $50 million.
The new cast joined Outer Banks Season 3
Jonas Pate, Shannon Burke, and Josh Pate are returning as showrunner and executive producers. Other casts including Chase Stokes, Madison Bailey, Carlacia Grant, Madelyn Cline, Rudy Pankow, Jonathan Daviss, Charles Esten, Drew Starkey, and Austin North are reprising their roles in season three.
The three new members are joining the series this season, and they are:
- Andy MacQueen, previously seen in Station Eleven will play the role of Carlos who is a Caribbean Don, he is refined, intelligent, and ruthless.
- Lou Ferrigno Jr, previously seen in Star Girl will play the role of Ryan who is Calm but young and hungry. Ryan is the top security officer and enforcer in Singh’s team. He is very experienced at keeping cool but also knows what to do when things go out of hand.
- Fiona Palomo, previously seen in Netflix’s Control Z will play the role of Sofia.
IMDb also reported some new small casts. Rick Perez will play Ted, Angela Lentz will play Cruise Ship Patron, Art Newkirk will play Officer Henderson and Drew Broderick will play a security guard.
The filming for season 3 was scheduled in Charleston, South Carolina. The filming began on 16 February 2022 and ended on 19 August 2022. On 14 Feb 2022, Valerie Wiess posted on her social media account Instagram confirming that the shooting will proceed soon.
Valerie Weiss is the director of multiple episodes of the series Outer Banks. Fans are eagerly waiting for the next season. The wait may end soon.
