Cabinet of Curiosities Plot
Nancy and Edgar, a couple, reach an isolated island for the research on Dunlins. They were provided with a house to sleep in and rest in. Their research began and everything was going fine with the survey, recording video, and recording the sound of Dunlins. During their sleepover, Edgar tried to intimate Nancy and was eventually rejected.
Nancy gets distracted by the noise coming into the house, and she discovers Dunlins inhabit the attic. The fact is Dunlins typically always roost in the shrubbery. As they continue recording, Nancy hears a noise in the recording and a ghost of a child begins talking with her. The ghost of boys started visiting her at night.
When the frequency of paranormal activities increased, Nancy became obsessed with finding out more about the family that lived in that house years ago. Edgar finds this obsession a distraction in their research work.
When Edgar again tries to intimate Nancy, we discover that the couple had lost their daughter Ava and this is the reason behind Nancy’s insomnia and loss of interest in Intimacy.
Neglection in research and obsession with finding more information about the family became a reason for the estrangement between Nancy and Edger. She continued to see ghosts of the son and mother. When she was in the bathtub, she saw the boy drowning and her mother banging on the door. Nancy also annoyed the landlord with her question about the mystery of the family.
Her obsession caused arguments with Edger, even about Ava. Edger decided to take a short break from Nancy and went to sleep on the sofa.
